It has always been about true partnership.
Business partners for twelve years prior to forming Horst & Graben, Jamieson and Casey set out to create a firm that ‘does it right’ – prioritizing warm service and approachability alongside the latest software and technology tools.
At Horst & Graben, your advisory team is there when you need them. From your advisor and associate advisor to the trading team and receptionist, our goal is to ensure your questions can be answered whenever you call in. Our interconnected team is always here to help.
Jamieson Grabenhorst, Owner and Founding Partner
“My dad always told me, ‘It’s not your choice, but your duty to serve the community that supports you.'”
Service and education are the grounding ideals of Jamieson Grabenhorst, a founding partner and financial advisor at Horst & Graben. The son of a school superintendent in Eastern Oregon, Jamieson brings that dedication to his work and considers himself a custodian of his clients’ financial futures. His deep ties to the Pacific Northwest start with his upbringing in Fossil and Condon and his education at Washington State University. The legacy of that community has built him a client network that spans from Astoria to The Dalles and as far north as Seattle.
As an advisor, Jamieson spurns fads in investing in favor of tried-and-true investment strategies, focusing less on a single day in the markets and more on long-term plans to achieve his clients’ goals. Jamieson’s commitment to service has led him to a board membership with the Oregon Historical Society and a position on the advisory committee for Holy Family Catholic School, and he continues his father’s educational legacy through heavy involvement with Rosemary Anderson High School.
When out of the office, Jamieson likes to play tennis and fish with his wife, Tiffany, and son Winston. And while he loves the city life, he also enjoys frequent trips to visit clients, friends, and family in Hood River, Condon, Yakima, and other parts of the region.
Casey Cleveland, Owner and Founding Partner
“We help clients establish goals for retirement, and then work as a team to help turn those goals into reality.”
A graduate of Gonzaga University with a B.A. in Finance and International Business, Horst & Graben is Casey's second venture as a founding partner. He is most excited to bring a small team of staff together to give his clients individualized focus. His accreditations as a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Consultant make him uniquely qualified to provide clients with service and advice that is tailored to their stage in life.
Casey endeavors to use his experience with investments and wealth management to built a reputation for sound planning and excellent service. From retirement and estate planning to stock options and investment management, Casey’s extensive knowledge of the industry affords him the opportunity to offer each client a broad base of options for their portfolio. He intends to help create lasting relationships with his clients so that they can embrace retirement as a new stage of life.
Outside the office, Casey enjoys nothing more than a ski trip or camping adventure with his family. He is also an avid lacrosse player.
Megan Richardson, Associate Advisor
A Portland native, Megan came to us from the University of Portland in 2015, where she graduated with a B.A. in Economics. She was inspired to become an advisor because of how it leverages her background in economics in a meaningful way that has a positive impact on people’s lives. In fact, what she appreciates most about working at Horst & Graben is seeing the tangible impact financial planning has on her clients' future goals.
In her role as associate advisor, Megan acts as a main point of contact and works with the firm’s advisors to create financial plans for clients. She encourages our clients to be mindful about what they want in life, because she knows with confidence that planning is how they'll get there.
She spends her spare time hanging out with her cat, playing board games, and baking for coworkers and clients.
Natalia McClure, Registered Assistant
Natalia hails from Simi Valley, California. She is Horst & Graben's advocate for streamlined systems. Her vision is for technology to make work more efficient so that we can all spend more of our time focused on our clients. From her previous experience, Natalia will be integrating technological innovations into our everyday processes, such as moving us toward a paperless office.
Natalia's approach is flexible and communicative. She's a true team player who is able to stretch and adapt to each client's unique goals and communication style. She specializes in the office’s trading operations and client paperwork. In her spare time, Natalia is an avid crafter.
Ashley Richins, Non-Registered Assistant
Ashley has been working with Jamieson and Casey since 2010. Over the years, what she has grown to appreciate the most about her work are the client relationships. What she's most drawn to is getting to know people and to helping them achieve their financial goals. She's seasoned at helping our clients feel comfortable talking about their finances; helping them shed some of the nerves and replacing it with ease. Ashley firmly believes there’s no one way to plan for retirement, because everyone has a different path to reaching their goals.
She is the ultimate multi-tasker, nimbly juggling the roles of receptionist, scheduler, and the behind the scenes details of Horst & Graben. Her two young daughters keep her busy outside the office with swimming, dance, and baking adventures.
In the Community
At Horst & Graben, our marketing budget is just about zero dollars. Our client base is built on a strong referral network, so instead we choose to direct those efforts toward community involvement. All our team members are active in the community, whether with money or time. Here are some of the organizations we particularly support.
Oregon Historical Society
Jamieson is a board member for the Oregon Historical Society. OHS serves as custodian for many of the state’s historical treasures, including the “Portland Penny” that decided the city’s name.
Ashley supports the Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Oregon College of Art and Craft
Jamieson has recently joined the board of OCAC, a Portland college supporting the arts.
Tiffany Grabenhorst is a board member at Operation Nightwatch, which aims not just to physically care for the homeless but provide them with friendship and community.
Rosemary Anderson High School
Tiffany Grabenhorst is a member of the Advisory Board for Rosemary Anderson High School, an alternative high school for at-risk high school students that has a 90% graduation rate.
Jamieson and his family support Camp UKANDU, whose mission is to bring joy and hope to children living with cancer, their siblings, and their families through “outrageously fun” camp experiences.
Megan works with DonorsChoose, a national organization that connects individuals with public school teachers to donate supplies straight to classrooms.
Oregon Food Bank
Casey and his family are supportive of the Oregon Food Bank, which aims to provide hunger relief throughout Oregon through 21 regional food banks and nearly 1,000 partner agencies statewide.
Natalia supports Project Linus, which collects blankets knitted by volunteers and distributes them to children in need of comfort and security due to medical reasons or other life trauma.
Casey and his family support JOIN, a Portland organization that transitions chronically homeless people into permanent housing and provides resources to help them retain housing.
